Hello Everyone,
For anyone that is looking for a good resource in explaining statistics
in a comprehensive, but not so technical nature, I have found the SPSS
training course guides to be quite helpful. I recently took a survey research
seminar in Chicago, IL, USA conducted by SPSS, which helped me freshen up on
knowledge I had learned back in grad school. I saw that they offered all of
their training material on a CD ROM, so I purchsed one. Having an
intermediate level back ground in statistics, I have found the reading
material to be geared towards "non-mathematical oriented" person.
Nonetheless, the concepts and application of each measures are thoroughly
explained. The materials are geared towards all levels of statistical
understanding-- from beginning statistics to advanced measures. The materials
integrate the understanding of the statistical measures with the use of the
softwareof course. Being an avid user of SPSS at my job, I have found the
materials very helpful and a worthwhile investment.
At any rate, I am not stating this for promotional issues concerning SPSS by
any means. I just found the material to be very helpful from a
"non-statistician's point of view" and found it worth mentioning to others
with similar interests. Thanks for reading my two cents! H ave a great day.
