A medical statistician is required to assist with the
Department's active and varied programme of epidemiological
research, which has been strengthened by the recent
appointment of Professor Peter Whincup to the Chair of
Cardiovascular Epidemiology.
We seek to appoint a statistician with an MSc in medical
statistics or equivalent to carry out analyses on complex
longitudinal data sets. This work may also involve
maintenance of large data sets and transfer of data files
between different computer systems. Experience with SAS
would be an advantage. Statistical analysis will be
carried out in collaboration with medical and statistical
colleagues. Other duties will include assistance with
practical and project work in the teaching of statistics to
medical students.
This full-time post is tenable for up to two years in the
first instance. Appointments will be on the 1B or 1A scale,
£16,286 to £24,479 plus £2,134 London Allowance per annum,
depending on experience and qualifications.
