LATENT VARIABLE AND STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODELLING (SEM) FOR
BIOSTATISTICIANS.
A 3-day practical course using Mx by Andrew Pickles and Shuying Yang
24/26th November 1999 at the University of Manchester
Mx is a freeware structural equation modelling program in which
models can be specified using either the graphical front-end or by
standard statistical text-book formulae using its matrix language.
This, and its provision for non-linear constraints, missing data and
profile-likelihood intervals, make it a powerful tool for
biostatistical analysis. Example analyses cover a wide range of
bio-medical applications. In terms of the sophistication and range of
the applications, this is an advanced course suitable either for
those with some prior biostats or SEM training or experience.
