Quantitative Researcher on Social Deprivation and Health
One year post - Salary £18 275
We are seeking a researcher to work on a project that will investigate
the links between individual and area influences on health. The work
will involve carrying out further analyses of data from the Scottish
Health Survey, and linking it with national data available at area
level from various sources. The research work will be directed by
Professor Gillian Raab, Dr Vera Carstairs and Professor Steve Platt.
You will be expected to have experience of and aptitude for practical
data analysis. The work will involve both formal statistical
modelling and the interpretation of the results, in the context of
health policy. You could have a background in statistical methodology
and an interest in working on an applied problem. Aternatively you
could have training as a quantitative social science and be keen to
develop your statistical skills further, with expert guidance.
