Title: An introduction to hypergeometric functions
Abstract
------------
Hypergeometric functions can be viewed as a generalization of
exponential functions. They are explicit, computable functions
that can also be manipulated analytically. The functions and
series we use in statistics and quantitative economics are all
special cases of them. Potential fields of application include
statistical distribution theory, nonlinear modelling (with unknown
functional forms), and mathematical finance.
