The Royal Statistical Society, 12 Errol St, London EC1
(nearest UG stations, Barbican, Moorgate & Old Street)
Title: "Statistical Problem Solving Environments and
Dynamic Solutions"
Speaker: Dr Geoff Morgan (NAG Ltd)
Abstract: The requirements for a modern flexible computing
environment for a practising statisticians will be
considered. How can the required flexibility be provided
to a generation not familiar with programming? How can we
make use of modern software so that the results can be
presented in an interactive way rather than just as a
static graph or table? Ideas will be illustrated using the
results from the recently completed EC funded project STABLE,
and at a simpler level, considering what can be achieved
with Microsoft Office.
