STATISTICIAN
Applicants are invited for the post of Statistician in the Winnicott
Research Unit at the University.
The person appointed would serve an active research group supported
principally by the Medical Research Council. The research is concerned
with the impact of parental psychiatric disorder on parenting and child
development. A range of research designs are used, including prospective
longitudinal and cross-sectional cohort studies, treatment trials and
experimental work.
The job includes advising on study design and planning, responsibility for
data management and statistical analysis, and assistance with preparing
reports of data analysis for publication. The research unit has close
connections with the Department of Applied Statistics and it is possible
that the Statistician could undertake a PhD within the University.
Excellent computing facilities are available.
Applicants should have, or expect to have, a statistics qualification and,
preferably, some relevant experience.
Salary in the range of 17,570 - 22,726 per annum plus USS benefits.
Starting date 1 May 1999 or as soon as possible thereafter.
