Further to pamela's comments .
Whilst an extension of the 20 wk rule is welcome there remains
some discrepancies over the transfer regs which ( in the draft regs)
have been shortened from 16 months to 12 months for 'new'
students.(98/99 entrant may be transitionally protected .The Dfee
are going to let me know))
The dfee are currently reappraising this regulation .
If anyone who has any examples as to why a 12 month transfer
system may disadvantage students, (with particular reference to
the administration processes),other than the obvious four months
extra to make a decision about transfering, could you please let me
know. I will then feed your comments back in to the Dfee.
Many thanks,
Jayne
