AND Grade VIII theory were the equivalent of having A-level Music.
A merit or a distinction in these exams would, I think, be more
impressive than a low A-Level score. I imagine some equivalent
could be worked out between the ABRSM scores (I can only
remember 120+= merit 130+ =distinction and A level grades).
