colleagues from different interest groups to respond effectively to the
CVCP/SCoP/QAA Consultation Paper on the development of Progress
Files. This will include discussion of the Transcript element. </flushboth>

<flushboth>Participants will include both managers with a strategic role and
practitioners developing the elements making up Progress Files,
including the Transcript.</flushboth>
<flushboth>The Seminar will: </flushboth>
<paraindent><param>out</param><flushboth>inform participants of the work going on to support the development
and implementation of policy in this area;</paraindent></flushboth>
<paraindent><param>out</param><flushboth>help institutions respond in informed ways to the Consultation
document, through enhanced understanding of the broader
implications of policy proposals;</paraindent></flushboth>
<paraindent><param>out</param><flushboth>provide access to student and employer views (drawn from the
process through which the Consultation paper was developed);</paraindent></flushboth>
<paraindent><param>out</param><flushboth>allow common issues and concerns to be raised, and identify means
of addressing these.</paraindent></flushboth>
<flushboth>Additionally, it may also</flushboth>
<paraindent><param>out</param><flushboth>help institutions assess the significance of existing developments in
recording and reviewing student progress and achievement as a
basis for addressing policy requirements;</paraindent></flushboth>
<paraindent><param>out</param><flushboth>help to identify institutions who could provide case study materials
to facilitate the creation of guidance to support the implementation
of emerging policy;</paraindent></flushboth>
<paraindent><param>out</param><flushboth>help the wider HE constituency to appreciate emerging learning and
outcomes from Projects funded by DfEE and others;</paraindent></flushboth>
<paraindent><param>out</param><flushboth>be of considerable interest to the ten Progress File national
demonstration projects, who will wish to demonstrate the growing
HE interest in this area to staff and students. </paraindent></flushboth>
<flushboth><bold><FontFamily><param>Arial</param>
A conference report, based on workshop summaries, will
feed into the consultation exercise and be available for
wider dissemination.</flushboth>
