We have a mature single student here who believes we should
pay him more than the £3000 limit of Access Funds. He says
that he needs to maintain a home (rented) in his home town
for his use during vacations. During term-time he has been
staying in halls, and his home remains empty.
All his associated costs leave him with an annual shortfall
of about £4000. We have now paid him £3000 and he insists
we should pay more.
Do colleagues have similar experiences and how have you
responded? I do not wish to divulge further details on the
mailbase, but would welcome a telephone discussion in order
to compare notes in more detail.
