Jonathan
I have asked SLC to provide each institution with a copy of their
course/term date data. They are willing in principle, but the exercise is
now competing for time with urgent operational work, so they are not
guaranteeing to be able to do it quickly. They are also setting up a
process for institutions to amend the data eg to add newly approved courses
for 1999-2000.

Subject: SLC - Verifying processed data held
We submitted the required information to the SLC at the end of April
and requested and was assured that we would be able to view a copy of
the processed data. We are now having problems obtaining that data.
I would be interested to hear from institutions, to whether you have:
(a) Requested a copy of the processed data?
(b) Received a copy (requested or not)?
and/or
(c) Are concerned that the data is to be used without the opportunity
for you to verify its accuracy?
Our request was due to the fact that:
(1) We made a larger number of changes to the data sent to us
(2) There were technical difficulties with the program/database
(3) We felt it would help if we had the same data as any enquiring
body (LEA, SLC etc.)
Thank-you for your time,
Jonathan.
