Subject: Admissions decisions
What are other institutions' procedures regarding the requirement /
duty to give reasons to an applicant about why their application
has been unsuccessful?
My personal view is that the decision is at the discretion of the
admissions tutor and is entirely one of academic judgement (within
the admissions policy and requirements of the University / course)
and that the decision need not be explained, nor is subject to
appeal.
Any thoughts would be welcomed; this relates to a current
problem!
Thanks.
Rob
