Hi Fiona,
Here at Nottingham Trent we hold 8 ceremonies over 4 days in July with about
500-600 graduates at each and then a further 2 ceremonies in November for
predominantly postgrad and resit students. We also hold a ceremony in
Malaysia for our franchise colleges over there.
We charge £7 per guest(no charge for the student) and provide a buffet after
each ceremony.
A couple of days before the ceremony we allocate seat numbers to each
student which they are given when they come to register on the day. Those
students who have not registered 15 minutes prior to the start of the
ceremony are deleted from our master list so that their names are not read
out.
Stewards will get the students out of their seats at the appropriate time
and check that they are still in the correct programme order, the presenting
Head reads out their names in groups of 4 and as they process across the
stage they are presented with their actual award document.
