At the University of Leeds, we are planning to hold around 36
ceremonies over 2 weeks in July (with a further 6/7 ceremonies in
December). Approximately 190 graduands attend each ceremony.
Graduands are given seat numbers prior to the ceremony (when they
collect their guest tickets). Just before the ceremony commences, a
team of marshals checks for absences. These are reported back to the
presenters who will cross the names off their programme.
We don't make any charges for the ceremony; graduands are only
expected to pay for their academic dress. Our Catering Services
sell refreshments on the day and some departments arrange their own
receptions.
I trust this information is of some use to you.
