I have been asked by several people about the non-appearance of the
application forms which we are supposed to be sending to EU applicants for
undergrad courses. I have checked with the DfEE on the current position.
The reply is as follows:
"Unfortunately our hands are tied as regards the issue of the
eligibility forms (EU2s) to HEIs as we have to wait until the Student
Support Regulations have been approved by Parliament - hopefully the
first week in March.
We will endeavour to have the forms ready for immediate despatch after
approval has been given so realistically we are looking at week
commencing 8
March.
In our SSIN 4/99 we asked instutions to keep a record of those
students who had rec'd a conditional or unconditional offer so that
forms could be despatched by the HEIs once rec'd from the Department.
The Department will then send these students their financial
application form (EU2(a)) when we notify them of their eligibility
assessment."
Keep saving the addresses of the EU applicants to whom you have made offers,
so that you can send the forms when they arrive. If you are particularly
assiduous, you may want to delete from the list thos who decline your offer.
