At Sheffield, the results collection exercise for our
students on modular courses is co-ordinated from a
central undergradate office within our Student Services Department.
A single (overall) result per student is requested from academic
departments in respect of every module taught. The data
is provided by departments in a standard file format for 'uploading'
directly into the central student records system.
Departments either supply their results on disc
or via a dedicated and security-protected email account.
The actual uploading process is operated by Student Services,
which is also responsible for managing Faculty approval of the results
and issuing individual results statements to students.
