The sort order appears to be by first letter of surname and then by
forename within each page of the report. I am told by the office here that
I am a sad person for being able to spot this.
This kind of disaster happens in Microsoft Access when you feed a perfectly
sorted query into the report generator and neglect to re-specify the sort
order.
It usually happens if the author of your report is either inexperienced or
experienced but tired/in a hurry/under pressure/just back from the
department christmas lunch.
So the SLC has a choice, blame Bill Gates or admit that they are not
perfect. Anyone want to open a book on it?
