Dear All,
I would like to take the advantage of the kind invitation by Rita to
introduce myself.
I am currently a doctoral student (2nd year) at City Univerity
rehabilitation resource centre, http://www,city.ac.uk/rrc .
A brief biographical sketch may be found at
http://www.city.ac.uk/~cx639/brief.htm .
My research project is related to the service provision for studnets weith
disabilities in higher education. An early version of the project outline
can be found at http://www.city.ac.uk/~cx639/project.htm .
The project is concerned with teh organisational policy and legislative
environment for this provision.
I have recently started a new disability and higher education policy as an
interdisciplinary list to encourage networking and dissemination across the
academic disciplines, [log in to unmask] . An early copy of the
list information may be found at http://www.city.ac.uk/~cx639/list.htm .
The list web page is http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/dis-he-policy where
archives may be accessed. It is direct access, no moderation-based list.
Your kind and generous support for this new list, complementing the
accessibuilt list would be most welcome.
I am currently incolved in the development of a number of online resource
directory projects, including a review of British disability releated
discussion lists, a directory of ongoing and completed British phd
dissertation projects and the arising papers and projects; directory
ofonline disability releated disability resources for higher education
(mostly British as a start), a directory of development and researh projects
on disability and higher education, a directory of working papers on
disability issues, a directory of research centres and courses on disability
issues among others. You are most welcome to contribute to these
projects. I will be creating separate web pages to expand on this message
to explain the ways to contribute to these projects very soon. Due to
constraints on teh human resources, I limit the coverage of these
directories to teh UK based activites as a start.
As you may guess, my interest in the accessibuilt is at the policy level
complementing my interest in other aspects. I have already skimmed through
teh archives and found the list very helpful and friendly. I will cover
this list in the discussion list directorry which I am currently preparing.
Hope it is clear and brief anough to elicit reponse and interest in th
mentioned [log in to unmask] list as well as other projects.
Ozcan
