Hi folks
Yes there is the customer side of post occupancy in terms of
surveys and asking people about what they do / do not do. One of
the things that is exciting about Environment behaviour analysis, is
that it is about watching and analysing. How many times will a
member of the design team sit and evaluate how a particular
function is being used. eg spending half an hour watching how a
reception / entrance area is being used. The answer is that
designers don't get time to do this, but it would form an exciting
part of post occupancy evaluation. Of course another example is a
designer watching how a disabled person is using the facilities they
have provided.
A note from Jon about the post occupancy evaluation workshop
asking did I mean December (and not September - help I'm
cracking up), but the answer is yes Jon, and thanks for the spot.
