AN INTRODUCTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE SPECIFICATIONS FOR
INTEGRATED TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS
Monday 12 April 1999
The design of many traffic control systems operating in the UK reflect a
basic simple architecture. Migration of these systems to a more
comprehensive integrated architecture that is in tune with the vision of the
Government's White Paper requires a sound working knowledge of how to
develop such an architecture. The skills of architecture development need to
be introduced to enable this to take place, and ensure that there will be no
restriction on further system expansion. The seminar is therefore designed
to help traffic engineering staff acquire these skills by introducing them
to the basic principals of system architecture. Speakers from leading local
and central government organisations, plus industry and research
representatives will contribute to the seminar.
Group tutorial work will be used to develop the debate relating to the many
issues and the arguments for using the system architecture approach. The
benefits of adopting this approach will be explained.
A CPD certificate can be issued for those delegates requiring CPD records.
The seminar will be held at Chilworth Manor in Southampton.
The cost of the seminar is £110.00 + VAT. This includes copies of all
presentation material, buffet lunch, coffee/tea.
