EPSRC Research Studendship: Environmental Impacts of Transport

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a Research
Studenship supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research
Council to undertake research into aspects of the environmetal impact of
transport. The studenship is of 3 years duration, leading to the degree of
PhD. Potential resarch topics include (but are not limited to):
The relationship between daily travel behaviour and exposure to
environmental hazards.
Long term environmental implications of traffic restaint policies.
Traffic gating strategies for the management of local air quality
problems.
The environmental effects of workplace based travel demand
management policies.
This area of work would suit an applicant with a strong mathematical or
statistical background, and with an interest in applying these skills to policy
reserarch and behavioural issues.
