PhD Research Studentship: "MOTORWAY TRAFFIC OPERATIONS"
Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering
University of Southampton
A research studentship, funded by the EPSRC, is available to study aspects
related to Motorway Traffic Operations. The studentship is part of a larger
EPSRC Platform Grant - 'Motorway Traffic Operations' held by the Group, and
as such several options are available for investigation - these include:

Systems)
The studentship is likely to be particularly attractive to a young applied
scientist, mathematician or psychologist. Funding is available for three
years for a British citizen, and includes payment of fees, maintenance, etc.
Maintenance will be at standard EPSRC rates. Limited travel funds may also
be available, and students are actively encouraged to present and publish
research.
The successful applicant will be expected start no later than 1st November
2000 and anyone wishing to be considered should register their interest as
soon as possible and no later than 1st October 2000 with the Transportation
