i too have called the Comic Relief 0800 number & have to report no
ill-effects. as has been said, i think it's genuine.
as for winding stairs, altho' i cannot say i've ever been at a
mobile-phone challenged reading experiences of demented air-conditioning
& ill-steered traffic noises have been multiple. for 8 years i've been
involved in the poetry readings of the Leicester Poetry Society, which
have been going on since the late 40's (G.S.Fraser was the original
impetus) sometimes i've been an organiser, sometimes a dogsbody &
sometimes just an attendee (as now) what i can claim is that we
sometimes have problems with outside noise from the Richard the Third
Society & the Leicester branch of the Birdwatchers association (I don't
know their correct title) The former in particular seems to be largely
composed of raucous middle-aged large ladies (why i have no idea) & i
challenge anyone to come up with such a ridiculous cause of regular
disruption (one-off's don't count!)
cheers me dears
