When I read a poem I dont give a damn about form. I treat innovative and main
mainstream in the same way as I read the poem in my head. My last innovative
work would probably `The Mong' in 1972. I then took roughly a ten year
break and the next major poem would be the `Gallus' Elegy of 1983. Where
I was so involved with content I never even thought about designing
the words innovatively. Since then with processing my poems with word
processing packages on the computer (mainframe moving to PC and taking
the software with me) I have been most reluctant to use white space,
which even HTML has problems with. For me it is the words I hear in
my head that count and the presentation is mostly irrelevant.
