I second those views of Doug -- having spent twenty or more years reading
texts like the one he has on his desk, I understand perfectly that feeling
of frustration and irritation with abstraction & poetry--which has that Amy
Lowell polish to it, Christmas baubles, and naught else to it. Kenneth
Rexroth wrote a poem in a book I got yesterday for 150 yen --first
edition --same year as I was born
