Good to see the party's been in full swing while I've been out, and...

KESTON, me old mate, how nice to sort through my bulging inbox and find
this at the bottom: I know you're just saying this to wind me up, right?
I'm sure when I referred to "narrowness of approach" you know very well I
didn't mean narrowness of logistics, but narrowness of thinking involved
in the whole affair. Limiting the illustrations to the western response
only, we could list:
- narrowness of understanding shown in Dayton agreement
- narrowness of concern in period between Dayton and this crisis
- narrowness of understanding of both Serbian and Kosovan claims
- narrowness of understanding of public opinion in the region
- narrowness of understanding of Serbia's relationships with neighbours
- narrowness of concern for Serbia's neighbours
- narrowness of policy employed
- narrowness of concern to find a lasting solution
- even this isn't complete, but it's starting to sound like a bad pastiche
of Ginsberg so I'll stop. I think the party's having lots of other usful
levels of talk now and so I plan to go away again as soon as possible.
