A new trilogy of performances by internationally acclaimed poet,
scultptor and performer, Brian Catling. Three one hour works are
thematically geared together. The teeth of obsession and image
biting into the moon, revealing its influence and posession.
Catling and his constructed colleagues of rags, fruit and electrical
wiring, operate the dark time and territory of the theatre space,
creating an atmospheric tension that runs in a different artery to
drama. A world of distorted continuity, viciously detailed with
moments of fear, comedy and the impossible.
The trilogy of performances will be repeated each evening with
shifting variations taking place as the cycle of the work subtly
evolves. The three sections can be experienced together in one
night or delved into over several evenings. Each section lasts for
one hour.
Were: The Chamber Works are developed from Catling's stunning
durational performance The Were, presented at Matt's Gallery
last year.
