Reminds me that Richard Burton plays a Dylan Thomas In America character
in Candy.
Somebody mentioned Stephen Fry as Wilde, and there's at least one
earlier film - is it called The Trial of Oscar Wilde? Peter Finch as
Wilde?
Plus:
The Virgin Queen, 1955. Bette Davis as Eliz I, Richard Todd as Sir
Walter Raleigh. I guess not all films about Sir Walt would count but
there's a play in this about him being a Poet as well as Everything Else
and he recites part of Come Live With Me to Queen Bette.
