Please be advised: Poets of London poetry workshops now take place
weekly, on Tuesdays from 6.00 pm onwards, on Level 6 of the Royal
Festival Hall, London SW1. Level 6 is one level above the Poetry Library
and faces the front of the building with London's main geographic
feature, the Thames, in the foreground.
The meeting begins with a poetry exercise to summon up the muse then
goes into workshop mode where members' poems are read and discussed.
Those attending may bring copies if they wish. Cost £1 (50p conc.). At
7.30 to 8.00 pm we adjourn to the pub—and what a pub; the musak-free
Orwellian dream pub, complete with books, Wetherspoon's Lord Moon of the
Mall at the top of Whitehall (Nos. 16-18) where we all sit up the back
(seats permitting; it's a busy pub). Beer costs £1.39 and there is a
full menu of foodie bits.

Poets of London was started in June 1996 as Poets Against Pollution. The
group focus is on the poetry of city, the built environment and the
experience of living in the city. Poets and others with a particular
interest in the built environment and the quality of life in cities are
welcome.
