Having just read your mail
asking why only two people
have commented on Robert's poem
while the rest have debated the question
given in your email's subject matter,
I could say what did you expect?
----I don't mean that to sound rude (add irony emoticons please)
You asked the question
and some people responded.
Not many actual poems get "debated" on this list
so two responses about the poem is actually good.
Actually most of us are so swamped with emails
from various lists that we don't have time
to respond to most of them
even if we really want to do so.
Anyhow, it has prompted me to delve in the archives
and dig it out again

Land of Opportunity
South East
Miss
Trouble goes past it flows through your mind.
East we go, no little miss, south we go, no girl in sight.
Billy is scared, tears from his eyes drips, and pies
blueberry pie so good you will have to cry.
Then a beast eats you alive.
Bones rotten, smoke flows, birds in the sky.
Poor girl bye-bye.
THE END
by Robert Monk
---
I think it is an excellent piece of work
even more so considering the age of the author
I am, though, reluctant to analyse it
as my interpretation might be altogether different
from another reader's
and it probably doesn't correspond to what
was in the writer's mind.
It is the kind of poem that evokes images
that change according the reader's mood.
I hope formal education won't break his spirit.
Good luck to him.
