Using syllabics can have an interested flattening effect, but syllabic
and word counts will just make an arbitrary shape which may or may not be
interesting to work with. I agree about the stresses: you can work with
them or against them, but I don't see how you can pretend, in such a
highly stressed language as English (take that how you will), that
they're not there.
