This may not be precisely the right list but I'm hoping there are folk
out there who can answer that question. I'm trying to gather information
on the origins, activities and demise(?) of the left-wing Unity Theatre
which ran in Campden Town, London from the 1930's to 197????, when the
theatre was burned down and the company went on the road. Anyone with
source material, knowledge of the whereabouts of source material,
anecdotes, contacts, and anyone who actually was involved with Unity,
please get in touch. Initially I shall be putting together a web-site,
and if enough comes to light, a book.
My own involvement? I was for a short period in 1964-66, Joint Stage
Director working on several productions including a Gorki play who's
name escapes me, Death of a Salesman, Playboy of the Western World,
Chicken Soup with Barley, There's a Nuclear Button on my Living-Room
Floor, Little Malcolm and His battle Against the Eunuchs, and various
political reviews e.g. All the Way With LBJ.
