Hi,
this whole question of arts council funding guidelines / forms is
wonderful. It's full of ludicrous alleys and anomolies. But the idea, if
you look at it from the other point of view is to try to determine *intent*
and to orient policy and get people thinking about whthere or not they
agree with such positions and what stance they might take if put on the
spot to do so. It's politics.
I've had a similarly insane example recently of being involved in a
collaboration with Kirsten Lavers and having to fill in a form as to
whether 'more than 50% of our work is by women'. Of course I've agreed to
only contribute 98% per cent of myself in order to be able to say yes to
such a question:) - not really
I'm all for hearing more stories of the vaguaries of contemporary patronage
though.
love and love
