Nice example Peter,
I'm not convinced by the efficacity of your upside-down pigs'-tails
as a category of poetry, but hell, if someone wants to make a go of
it and they can generate readers then what's the problem?:)
Or should i ask more crunchingly, extremism is identified by yourself
in relation what or whom? Young girls didn't used to pierce their
naval (and other parts) in small towns and villages (let alone cities)
and yet now do so in growing numbers. Is this extreme behaviour?
Your pi-po does raise the question i was putting about 'folk' and
'tradition' and how they relate to :
- time passing
- numbers of citations or fans or bums on seats
- markets and market tactics
- fashion
What if pig-po became a significant code and 'major' works were
'written' using its cover?
I'd like you say more, rather than react in quite such a delightfully
fuddy-duddy, if only the twentieth century hadn't really nearly
happened, tone of dismissal. What is pig-po your code for, as if we
mightn't guess? And where does your own highly experimental poetry
fit into your own protestations of 'normality' or 'concensual reality'?
What -is- 'academic poetry'?
love and love
