"Rush Hour in Tokyo (Summer 1999)"
Ubiquitous sweat like
the Chancery in Dickens,
it trickles through the train,
and to each it causes some
discomfiture like an unpaid
debt, clinging to the lower
backs and licking the thighs
or armpits, like a perverted
magistrate,
and some foolish people seek
solace in an air-conditioner
turned to Ice Station Zebra,
those closest, suffer from frostbite,
and die from hypothermia.
