I didn't think I had accused Keston of using suffering to advance his
reputation. But I was interested in how he intended to engage with the
millions in Africa he mentioned. However, I must own up to hoping that Doug
Oliver would raise the questions he did raise. It's something I've been
confused about for a long time. I remember a previous post by Doug where he
described being criticised by an African writer who said something along
the lines that it was "their story."
Ric's point about the tininess of our production runs is very telling. It's
been blazing sun all morning, during which I've been making a new hutch for
our expanding guinea pig population. (If I just tattooed poems on the
g.p.'s I've have a wider circulation.) So, can't think now, but I hope to
get back to these questions.
