Hi David, you write:
>dissatisfactory tho' the CamPo & LangPo labels are they do act as
>rule-of-thumb referents in a mind-space of ripped-up maps. this does not
>mean that there are not individuals within the shadows of those labels
>who also evade them - I'd adduce John Wilkinson & Bob Perelman here.
Which makes me realise how poor the information in circulation might be,
casting further doubt onto the validity of the opinions expressed from time
to time in discussion topics such as this. David, I'm not blaming you for
that but
Perelman would be one of the 'key' lang-po practitioners, having edited
Hills magazine, including the wonderful 'talks' and 'poets theatre' issues;
having been a prime mover in the SF scene (along with Benson, Silliman,
Watten, Harryman, Robinson and Hejinian) throughout the 70s and 80s and
having his work used as the basis for Silliman's formulation of 'the new
sentence'. `The modernist criticism and the poetry he has written since the
move to Philly might be misleading, but really that's no excuse.
Cite an example of the simple 'I' of protest narrative and let's see what
we're able to say about it could you?
love and love
