UNIVERSITY LECTURER or ASSISTANT LECTURER
Applications are invited for an established post in the Statistical
Laboratory, beginning on or after 1 November 1999. This position is open
to candidates with interests in any area of mathematical statistics.
The successful candidate will have strong research interests in some
branch of theoretical or applied statistics, and will be expected to
contribute to the teaching and research programmes of the Laboratory.
The current scale for an Assistant Lecturer is =A316,655-=A321,815, and for=
a
Lecturer is =A320,107-=A331,010. The appointee will be placed at a position=
on
one of these scales commensurate with age and/or achievements.
The Statistical Laboratory is a sub-department of the Department of Pure
Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, and gained the highest award of
5* in the 1996 Research Assessment Exercise. Information about the
