Data Manager / Research Assistant – Part-time (upto 30hrs/pw)
The Leukaemia Unit of the Haematology Department of Imperial College School
of Medicine is a world renowned research centre. Molecular and cellular
biologists work alongside clinicians in trying to understand, and improve
the treatment of, a number of haematological disorders. The unit has a
particular interest in utilising bone marrow transplants as a treatment
modality, and has a programme that has been ongoing for 25yrs.
A part-time data manager / research assistant (upto 30hrs/pw) is required to
collect data from the transplantation programme in order to maintain the
inhouse computer databases, and complete data forms for studies conducted by
international collaborators.
Other duties may include collection of data for scientist or clinician
instigated studies, and proof reading manuscripts for submission to
scientific journals.
Ideally, the post would suit someone with a biological or nursing
background, having excellent organisational skills and attention to detail,
and being computer literate. An ability to interact with a diverse array of
clinical and laboratory staff is essential.
The position is available for one year in the first instance. Salary on the
Research RA1B scale (L15,735 + LW).
