BIOMETRY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE UNIT (BIA)

A one-year post-doctoral position with the possibility of extension
is available in the above unit. Applicants are expected to choose
one of the following projects:
1. Statistical studies of scale changes in the context of large
biophysical systems;
2. Decision analysis and artificial intelligence for the management
of biophysical systems;
3. Bioinformatics: annotation tools for eukaryotic organisms;
4. Constraint satisfaction problem and optimization.
Project 1 is probably most relevant to readers of ALLSTAT - applicants
for this project should have a PhD in statistics, or a PhD in modelling
plus a strong background in statistics. Descriptions of all the

The successful applicant is expected to start work in 1999.
