PhD Studentship
in
ATOPIC ECZEMA-ENVIRONMENTAL AND GENETIC INFLUENCES
based in the Unit of Pediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology and the
Department of Dermatology, University of Bristol,UK
The studentship is for a period of three years to allow study of
environmental and genetic factors in atopic eczema, using information
collected as part of the Avon Longitudinal Study of Pregnancy and
Childhood (ALSPAC). http://www.ich.bristol.ac.uk/alspac.html.
The student should have an understanding of medical statistical methods
and should have an MSc or BSc degree. The work will be based within a
multidisciplinary unit supporting several PhD students and
post-doctoral scientistsand will allow the student to develop extensive
skills in medical statistical data analysis and epidemiology.
If required there will also be oppurtunity to acquire an understanding
and skills within the field of molecular genetics.
The stipend for each year will be as follows: Year 1: £9,400; Year 2:
£9,860; Year 3: £10,330. This studentship is supported from a grant
from the National Eczema Society.
