INTERNET BASED LEARNING DEVELOPER in STATISTICS
A one year post is available in the Statistics Department (Leeds University) for
developing internet based distance learning material. The objective is to
construct a suite of Web based teaching units to teach, revise and assess the
fundamental ideas of practical statistics for use in the workplace, college
and the home. The modules will be developed in HTML and JAVA but
make extensive use of existing computer based learning material. The
project will involve collaboration with the department of Continuing
Education, the Computer-Assisted Learning Consultant of the university's
computing service and local industry and colleges of higher education.
The primary requirement is that the applicants should have an appropriate
degree with a strong statistical component. Some programming experience
is essential and ideally applicants should be familiar with MS Windows.
Experience in computer aided learning, HTML and JAVA, although not
essential, would be an advantage.
Salary will be £ 15,735- £ 17,570 (Grade 1B) according to qualifications
and relevant experience and the post will be funded for 12 months from the
starting date.
