JOB OPPORTUNITY: EPIDEMIOLOGIST/MEDICAL STATISTICIAN
An opportunity to join a successful and expanding research group in the
Division of Respiratory Medicine.
We are seeking an additional researcher to join an existing team of
clinicians, epidemiologists and statisticians to work on several new and
ongoing studies of the epidemiology of asthma and allergic disease. The
appointee will primarily undertake the analysis of the involvement of early
life events in asthma and allergy using data from the General Practice
Research Database in a collaborative project with the University of Keele.
There will also be an opportunity to be involved in the first stages of a
new project which will assess the effects of dietary nutrient intake in the
development and prevention of chronic lung disease. There will be an
opportunity to progress one of these projects to an Mphil or PhD
qualification if desired.
Applicants should have either a postgraduate qualification (MSc) in medical
statistics, epidemiology or health services research, or substantial post
graduate experience involving statistical analysis and the use of
statistical software.
Salary will be on Research and Analogous IB scale (£15,735 to £17,570)
depending upon qualifications and experience. The post is available for one
year in the first instance, but with the possibility of extension.
