Bio-medical Statistician
Applications are sought for the post of Bio-medical Statistician within
the Population Health and Primary Care Group of the School of Health
Policy and Practice.
The postholder will be expected to provide advice and assistance on the
statistical aspects of the design and conduct of research projects to
health care and other researchers in the Norwich area. The post will
be full-time, starting on 1st October 1999, for 2.5 years on the RA1A
grade (Spine Point 5 maximum) depending on qualifications and
experience. The successful applicant will be expected to work in close
conjunction with the co-ordinator of the Research and Development
Support Group and the lecturer in medical statistics.
Candidates are expected to have an MSc (or equivalent) in bio- or
medical statistics, possibly with some experience in health-related
research and interacting with health care professionals. Good
communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential, together
with a good working knowledge of at least one major statistical package
(e.g. SAS, SPSS, or Minitab).
