Cancer Research Campaign Paediatric & Familial Cancer Research Group
Applications are invited for this post based at the Royal Manchester
Children's Hospital. The CRC Paediatric & Familial Cancer Research
Group is concerned with studies of the aetiology of cancer in
children. A particular emphasis of the research is the investigation
of genetic predispostion and genetic environment interactions. The
successful candidate should have good general educational
qualifications. Either a qualification at degree level in statistics
with a significant computing component or in computing with a
significant statistical component is essential. A qualification at
degree level in computing and statistics combined would be ideal.
Experience with PC hardware and software is essential. Experience in
installation and use of some of the following is required: Novell
3.12, DOS, Windows, Word, ACCESS, Foxpro, SPSS, SAS, STATA, GLIM,
Visual Basic. The appointee must be a good communicator and have a
flaxible approach to the post. Salary will be within the range
15,920-18,003 pounds depending on qualifications and experience. The
appointment will be for a fixed term of 3 years from 1st October 1999
