The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC)
is an international non profit organization whose aims are to promote
and co-ordinate clinical cancer research in Europe. The ultimate goal of
the EORTC is to improve the standard of cancer treatment by facilitating
the translation of scientific discoveries into state-of-the-art
treatment. These aims are achieved through the multinational
multidisciplinary efforts of scientists, clinicians and social

The EORTC Data Center, Brussels Belgium, has a vacancy for a:

SAS PROGRAMMER (m/f)

The EORTC Data Center provides data management, computer, statistical
and medical expertise to the EORTC clinical cooperative groups at a
central site located in Brussels and works in collaboration with a
network of 2000 investigators distributed in more than 350 institutions,
mostly in Europe.

The EORTC Data Center is concerned with all aspects of Phase I, Phase II
and Phase III cancer clinical trials from their design to the
publication of the final results, also including quality of life and
cost evaluation assessments.

This position involves the development of SAS software to support the
conduct of these studies and the training and support of staff members
in the usage of SAS.

Depending on the candidate's qualifications, it also offers an
opportunity to participate in the statistical design and analysis of the
clinical trials carried out by the EORTC Clinical Cooperative Groups and
in the projects of the Information Technology Unit.

The ideal candidate would be from a European Union country and have a
very good practical knowledge in the use of SAS and the manipulation of
SAS databases. Some previous experience in the conduct of cancer
clinical trials would be an advantage. A very good knowledge of English
is also required.
