BIOMATHEMATICS & STATISTICS SCOTLAND
Based at King's Buildings science campus, University of Edinburgh
Salary £18,000 - £25,500
This new statistical post has been created as part of a major expansion
of BioSS work applied to research in animal diseases and related risks
to public health. It provides an exciting opportunity to join a team of
six BioSS researchers and PhD students working in an important
application area with a high public profile. The post is funded
initially for 5 years.
The postholder will undertake statistical modelling of epidemiological
and molecular data and the design of veterinary studies for a number of
active research groups. Projects include a major Wellcome-funded
international study of the epidemiology and evolution of
Enterobacteriaceae (particularly E. coli O157) in animals and man; half
of the statistician's time will be linked to this project.
