Statistics and the Scottish Economy
Jeremy Peat
Chief Economist, The Royal Bank of Scotland.
Jeremy Peat is the co-author of 'An Illustrated Guide to the Scottish
Economy', the first comprehensive examination of that economy for many
years. In that book Jeremy and his colleague Stephen Boyle emphasise
how much we do not know about the Scottish economy. Indeed they devote
a full chapter to an assessment of those gaps in our knowledge and why
they matter. In his talk Jeremy will further address this issue, not
presenting some unrealistic 'wish list', but attempting to point to
feasible and priority areas of development. He will, of course,
emphasise the priority that developing a better understanding of our
economy merits in this era of a new devolved Parliament to go
alongside a devolved administration.
Non-members welcome
