in Computer Science, Decision Science,
Information Systems, Mathematics and Statistics

At MASSEY UNIVERSITY, Auckland, New Zealand

The Institute of Information and Mathematical Sciences, based at the Albany
Campus on Auckland's North Shore, contains academic staff in Computer
Science, Electronics, Information Engineering, Information Systems,
Mathematics and Statistics as part of Massey University's College of
Sciences.

As a result of an expansion of offerings and growth in student enrolments
within these disciplines, new positions at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer
levels are available for applicants with the following backgrounds:

Computer Science - any field of computer science and an ability to teach a
variety of undergraduate courses.
Reference Number IIMS84/99LA

Decision Science - deterministic operations research including
linear/non-linear programming with applications in one or more of the
industrial, engineering, business or finance areas.
Reference Number IIMS85/99LA

Information Systems - database, distributed systems, electronic commerce,
systems analysis, systems design.
Reference Number IIMS86/99LA

Mathematics - scientific computation, numerical analysis, optimisation,
preferably with applied or engineering applications.
Reference Number IIMS87/99LA

Statistics - applied or industrial statistics, biostatistics, sampling,
data mining.
Reference Number IIMS88/99LA

Applicants should have a doctorate in an appropriate field, demonstrated
ability as a teacher, research expertise preferably in one of the
aforementioned areas and possibly having an interest in contributing to
interdisciplinary teaching and research within the Institute. Ideally
appointees will have a commitment to assist in fostering the Institute's
links with local business and industry. Depending on experience,
appointments may be made at Senior Lecturer level. A joint appointment
with one or more of the disciplines in Institute would be considered.
